It must be true, friendships & rivalries, losses & victories never have an end, only a beginning. Spectacular Judges of Supreme Court have hoped for an impactful conclusion. The irreversibly powerful ones have known more. There is never a last word. Life travels with surety of a pendulum clock, tick tock.
We remember, in Puttaswamy, [Writ Petition (Civil) No. 494 of 2012] CJI Khehar chose not to author a Judgment and instead relied on Hon’ble Justice Dr. D.Y. Chandrachud. Only once before in Indra Sawhney, 1992 Supp (3) SCC 217 did a Chief Justice of India [CJI M H Kania], despite being on a Nine Judge Bench, not write. Indra Sawhney was released a day before CJI Kania’s retirement; Puttaswamy, two days before CJI Khehar’s.
My investigation was proposed by Novartis A.G. v. UOI. Hon’ble Justice Aftab Alam concluded on Imantib Mesylate [Zimmerman’s Patent], 14 days before his good bye.

The most keenly-awaited ruling by a Bench led by CJI Misra is Aadhaar. It had the second longest oral hearing in history of Apex Court. CJI Misra shall be CJI for just another seven days. This game of ‘departure lounge impact’ is old and silly.
Future CJI Dr. D.Y. Chandrachud’s Son recently released this, cited by The Economic Times because of CJI Ray. It is true Ray has helped several earn their names. He even tailor made Hon’ble Justice Y.V. Chandrachud’s career, allowing him to even look through his gifts. I do wear them. All while I often wonder, there is never a last word.
